Injury inequalities in the European Region: trends cross-country and within-country and potential COVID-19 impacts

Abstract We will provide a review of the knowledge base from studies on injuries in WHO European Region 2010 to 2019, both cross-country and within-country, for all causes cause-specific. The focus is whether inequalities between countries within persist such that people low socioeconomic status less affluent areas tend die by injury greater extent than others. This has previously been observed most (e.g., traffic, self-directed violence, interpersonal poisoning, burns) but also several settings home, work, transport) based disparities risks 1990-2006. In addition, pandemic touches upon factors with known impact, directly or indirectly, risk social distribution (e.g. isolation, change transportation mode volume, alcohohol consumption, etc.). Until 2020-2021GBD data are available at regional level Europe, we hypothesise how may have affected Region. For example, significant decrease road traffic related due lockdown measures (reduced commuting 24-hour curfews).
